Ailefroide Sport Via Ferrata – 2nd Section

After completing the introductory via ferrata, follow the sign pointing to a trail that descends alongside the torrent. The route begins with a traverse leading to a monkey bridge. This bridge takes you to the narrowest section of the route, which must be negotiated through a series of athletic moves.

After an acrobatic section over a wedged boulder, you reach the top of the cliff, where an escape route is available to bypass the final sections. The route then continues across the cliff, including two sections with significant overhangs. The final section follows an easy pillar, leading to the return trail.

At the end of the via ferrata, follow the signs to find the return trail.

Access: The via ferrata starts just before the Claux tunnel in Pelvoux, on the left bank of the Ailefroide torrent.

Return: 10 minutes for the blue route and 15 minutes for the black route. Follow the signs to find the return trail.
