Via Ferrata Red
Description
This via ferrata begins with a beautiful, approximately 30-metre-high vertical wall leading into the heart of the gorge, well above the river. From there, the route follows a series of unusual-shaped ramps, offering stunning views over the Durance. These ramps lead to a cave in the middle of the cliff, followed by a final, easier wall that takes you to the end of the route.
Access: Reach the car park from La Bâtie des Vigneaux by following the signs. From the Via Ferrata car park, follow the signs to the start.
Return: 10 minutes for the red route and 15 minutes for the black route. Descend alongside the penstock. Pass underneath the penstock to reach the large suspension bridge (55 m long, 80 m above the ground), which provides an easy route back to the car park.
- Towns crossed : L'Argentière-la-Bessée and Les Vigneaux
