Hiking itineraries

This portal presents you several types of itineraries.

The paths that are proposed on Rando Pays des Ecrins are:

Paths for walking:

Most of itineraries for walking are open to public and a great majority of them are registered in the Departmental Plan of Stroll Itineraries. These paths and lanes are handled, maintained and marked out by the department, the federations of municipalities, municipalities or by some partners such as the French Hike Federation and its local associations.

Trail run itineraries:

Trail run is a running activity in nature. The trailer crosses various environments and different types of fields.

The Trail Station of Pays des Ecrins ist recognized at a national and international scale. The 21 tracks are marked out and open to everyone and can be practiced by running or walking. There are 4 difficulty level: very easy, easy, average (intermediary level) and difficult (sportive level).

The duration of these itineraries are only indicative and are calculated as an average considering the denivelation.

IT IS COMPULSORY TO GO ON STATIONDETRAIL.COM TO KNOW WHEN TRAIL TRACKS ARE OPENED OR NOT

Randoland itineraries

Some circuits are conceived with the form of paper chase to offer children for 4 to 12yo the possibility to discover these tracks in a playful and pedagogical way. You can find some leaflets freely in all the Touristic Information Office in Pays des Ecrins.

Three levels of inquiry are proposed for every track:

  • 4 to 6 years old
  • 7 to 9 years old
  • 9 to 12 years old

Detective Rando is the mascot that goes with the kids and leads them to help them resolve the enigmas. Six to ten little games by tracks, that require some notions of vocabulary and maths, based on elements of the visited patrimony. These forms allow them to discover the historical, architectural and natural patrimony.

Mountain Bike and electric bike tracks

During summer 2019, bike tracks progressively boosted the offer on our website rando.paysdesecrins. You can find a total of 18 tracks, including one certified for electric bike, and a part of the Great Hautes-Alpes Crossing, marked out and presented on our Geotrek tool.

There are 4 levels of difficulty: very easy, easy, average and difficult. The tracks are handled, maintained and marked by the Federation of Municipalities of Pays des Ecrins.

Furthermore, 5 downhill tracks and two bike parks can be found on Puy-Saint-Vincent station and in Vallouise-Pelvoux. It is compulsory to get informed about it, to have a real mountain bike and to be equipped with labelled and specific protections, adapted to this kind of practice.

The Tourism Office of Pays des Ecrins declines every responsibility concerning the route, the marking and the maintaining of all these tracks.
